read A LOT.....newspapers, books, all kinds of articles...be informed and read to expand your vocabulary..take political science classes and history classes.

A good course of study in school would be broadcast journalism.

Also, grab the newspaper and practice reading the news into the mirror so you can see how you're pronouncing your words.

They frequently make errors in grammar and word-choice, and their questions often indicate that they lack any substantive knowledge of their subjects. I recommend you set your sights a little higher than the buffoons you will find on TV.

they are not speaking...they are reading....they are reading a script off of paper and teleprompters. I doubt they actually speak as well as they read...they are good readers.
