i keep hearing a ton of reasons why they broke up and that they are making an album as we speak. which is it?

Here you go. Linkin Park has not split up. After uniting with Jay-Z, Mike finally decided to get back to his roots and creat Fort Minor. While he was doing that, Chester decided to do a solo album himself. He is working with a couple guys from Korn and a couple indie bands. Mike has since finished the record for Fort Minor, has finished a tour, and has been helping produce the new Styles of Beyond album along side of Jay-Z. Linkin Park recently got back into the studio, as they have been writing material for quite some time. Now, teamed up with legendary rock producer Rick Rubin, they are creating an LP album in the likes you have never heard before. Look for it to come out sometime in Early 2007.

Nope. They are still goin on. Its jus Mike Shinoda released his solo album The Rising tied on his own side project called Fort Minor which is mainly a Hip Hop project.Fort minor was actually released on Machineshop recording which is a record label owned by Linkin park itself. Chester Bennington, the lead singer is preparin his own solo stuff called Snow shite tan. All the guys in the band had had their other side projects runnin along with Linkin Park. Linkin Park is still alive guys.

They are still around. Mike S. (Fort Minor) just decided to go out on his own for a while... with full support from the band of course.

NO THEY HAVE NOT!!!! God, u scared me but then I realised it was a question. lol silly me. they have not changed their name into Fort Minor...that's just another project of Mike Shinoda. I think they're recording the next album :D

hmm. i think they are stll around. but aren't noticed anymore. all bands go in and out of style. that happened to this band.
