It's not call taming them what you do is break them. You have to not allow them to act like a wild horse and make sure they get everything from you. Once you have broken them they can be considered more tame but they are still a wild animal at heart, at least you could breed the horse and the ponies would be much more tame.

Sure, Weren`t all horses wild before we tamed them??
One needs to be cautious and should have lotta patience.
If Tigers and Lions can be tamed for circus, so can horse be.

no not without sitting on its back and letting it buck under you alot
and that might cause chaffing
