You can find a lot about playing on the web but what you should do first is pick up a book from "Hal Leonard" he is the master of introductory guitar books. If you use this and learn some excersizes to strengthen your fingers on the fret board you should be on your way. There is only really one way to be able to play and that's to sit for 1-2 hours every day or at least 5 days a week and practice.

i am learning too but i have a book and could send you pictures of it and you could read them and i am doing pretty good with the book.
