That's a huge can of worms !

It would hurt a lot of people who actually need the help.
It would put those that don't really need the help to look for jobs.
It would have ramifications on other aids like social security & medicare.
It would cause great havoc among people have think they deserve, but really don't.
It would cause great despare on many people who barely survive
It would cause political pressures when funds are allowed to go to other countries, but not our own
It would cause non-beneficial ractions from other countries thank look onto this nation as supports of their people.
It would cause great moral strain by not doing what is written of Feeding the widow, orphan and despared, and seeing them in their time of need.
It would probably put a few pennies back into people's pockets,
It would cause higher demand for food supplies and prices would rise.
It would cause inflation rates to sky rocket with no government subsidized freeze and food prices.
It would allow death rates to increase in this nation
It would allow crime rates to increase
It would hurt morally, they don't help me why should I help.
It was cause distrust in our way of government

IT
IT
no end. :(

If a person is poor, no welfare is being given, and people have views like yours, I would question why they have any interest or obligation to follow any laws at all.

I believe that people are basically animals.

If a large 300 lb black man (just for stereotype's sake) was not hindered by laws, he would be able to do pretty much whatever he wanted. The price we pay to belong to a society is to obey the laws, which prohibit the physical side of the 'survival of the fittest' coin from destroying the civilisation we have built.

In return, we are supposed to be protected.

If you are indeed rich, then you have a lot to gain from behaving. You property and person is protected. You have the same to lose if you misbehave.

If you are poor, homeless, no welfare, then why would you obey the rules? Why should you? The qeuation doesn't balance.

Finally, if anyone is well off, why are they concerned about welfare, because they want to pay less tax and be more rich. Get another car, another house.

Heres a link for everyone to check out about taxes in America.

well, if to skip all the politics of it and the whining and protests things and get down to physicaly of what would happen

i think that there would be a mad scram for jobs, especially the illegal labor dependent ones.

and poeple would have start thinking about not having a thousand dang kids and have to also start thinking of a normal steady household in order to take care of thier families instead of having the GOV do it.

then there will be those that move in with relatives a frirends and more poeple will have to consolidate to work and watch each others kids.

it would be great, but to bad it won't happen, the supporting politicians rely on them to much now to do anything, must get that vote from the libs!

Lets see....
Less help wanted signs, more beggars at the intersections, a few hundred thousand less illegal immigrants, abandoned slums, less junkers driving uninsured. Less drug abuse.
More crime, like prostitution, burglary, armed robbery. Increased costs for Police protection.
I have visited countries with no welfare system. Child prostitutes, horrible health conditions, and a sense of hopelessness that pervades everything.
I believe that our system should be used only for bona fide US Citizens.

Some would get off their lazy butts & get jobs. Others may die, have to put their kids up for adoption. Personally, If not for welfare, I would have lost my kids when I had cancer & couldn't work for months & I was a single Mom.

Think of the depression of 1929 and the panic of 1933.

Now ask how unchecked unskilled unlimited immigration, legal or not, will burst the system to the tune of 95% of your paycheck going to taxes. At that level, it doesn't matter if they are legal or not.

lots of people would die of starvation.....IN their brand new $50,000 vehicle b/c they couldn't pay rent...that is a little harsh, and some people actually need welfare from time to time...I have, myself had to have food stamps (couldn't work b/c of injury...no insurance)...and you wouldn't believe the hoops I had to jump through, but the person next to me in the waiting room had a brand new (expensive) vehicle, lots of jewelry, very nice clothes, etc. and had been on food stamps for a long time, and was getting them renewed....it just doesn't seem fair for the people who are actually trying and just happen to hit a tough spot.

People would finally have to get up off their lazy butts and go to work. I am definately against welfare. We make it too easy for people not to work.

poor people would riot and the government might realize or have to confront the fact that it's not doing its job of providing its citizens with full employment so that they can take care of themselves instead of relying on government aids which are purposefully inadequate.
