If the south had won the war, we would have:
A) The Confederate States of America and the United States of America.
B) The CSA would probably have ended slavery by the middle of the 20th century, but no black would yet be allowed to own land, to vote or to enter a number of professions, including medicine, politics and the law.
C) Agriculture would still be the most important economic activity in the CSA.
D) The population of the CSA would be considerably less than the population of the USA.
E) Gays and lesbians would be exiled or put to death for their "treasonous immorality".
F) Most whites would live at or below the poverty level. Education beyond the eighth grade would be the exception, not the norm.
G) Women would not have the vote. Nor would they be allowed to run for public office, to enter "masculine" professions like public safety (fire and police), the law, medicine, higher education professorships. Actually, 95% of all adult females would be either wives or prostitutes.
H) Mexico would have been annexed by the CSA during the first part of the 20th century.
I) WWI would have lasted another 3 years as the CSA would have stayed neutral.
J) And most of the above would be moot because the whole thing would have come crashing down by 1946, when the Nazis invaded the North American continent, after their and their allies' smashing victories over Great Britain and the Commonwealth.
The east coast would be speaking German and the west coast would be trying to learn Japanese and the CSA would be derelict and totally destroyed, the population carted off to "re-education" camps (read death).
Aren't you glad Abe stuck to his guns!?

The South waged a conflict of persistence; they only had to secede, to no longer take over all the U. S.. That being reported, we would have much less jobs, and maximum of our presidents, being from Southern States, could have replaced. even with the undeniable fact that, in a worse case state of affairs, slaves could flee the Confederacy and, being a thoroughly separate united states, refusal to return the fugitives could have introduced approximately 2d conflict ultimately. We probable does no longer have had unlawful immigration subject concerns from Mexico, however the slaves that made up the three Fifths Compromise, because of the fact the Southern States could have had extra political capability than the Northern States if each and every slave exchange into counted as an entire individual, so there could have instead been a huge overpopulation subject, that, interior the superb case, could've crippled the South's agricultural industry, and the North's activity availability, forcing the two to come back jointly decrease than a compromise related to slavery. additionally, i assume Mexico could have tried to take decrease back Texas as quickly as extra (good previous Texas, seceded two times and annexed as quickly as, led us right into a conflict with neighboring Mexico)

Yes!!!!!!
The real issue was for states rights over the federal government. The south was going to free the slaves on their own for the simple reason of economics, they had already outgrown that particular institution. They probably would have been seperate for a while but the truth is they needed each other.

Two, I think. The south wanted to be separate from the North, so there you go. Maybe the Confederation of southern States and the Union of the North. :P

The South could not win, because the war would never have "ended" until the Union prevailed. It would just continue and continue and continue...
"What if the war lasted longer?", would be a more reasonable question to ask.

(oh lord!) the more i think about it, the more i think that maybe things turned out the way they were meant to be.

Who knows? Maybe slavery would still be going around, and Al Sharpton, instead of addressing Race issues, would be preaching about Salvery instead.

We wouldn't have so much violence and an overpopluation of blacks destroying our cities. There wouldn't be the need for so many prisons or the constant complaint of discrimination!!!
