The way we treat kids in this society is ridiculous. We can't say certain words because the kid might here. No more winners and losers in kid sporting events (someone's feelings might get hurt if they lose). I mean this is ridiculous. And when did it become everyone's job to raise your kids. If you don't want your kids to see the world, lock them in the closet until they are 18, otherwise, realize that life happens all around, some good things some bad things, and kids just like everyone else need to experience it. We are the sum of our experiences, good, bad, and ugly. So please tell me why I should raise your kids and why I can't say a word like **** just because I want to. Parents need to tell there kids that some things are for kids and some things are for adults.

umm...I do not know what respect is and I have great respect for many things. I do not however have respect for parents who want me to do their job. And what about respecting me and my rights? Or is it just a one way street when talking about the kids?

You can say whatever you want around my kids; just not in my house.
When my son wanted to know what gay is. I told him that there are some things kids don't get to know until they are older. And, "Don't use words you don't understand."
When he indicated that he had a workable understanding of sex (he said, "When a man and a woman love each other they have sex and do other stuff.") then I told him what gay is. He was appalled, but that will change when he gets older and finds out that some family members and friends who he loves are gay.

See, not all parents act like that. However, you can choose to be more respectful and behave appropriately when children are around.

i agree with you. I have 5 little cousins and a potty mouth so there have been some problems but it's up to the parents to teach them not to say those things. About the no winners or losers, that is the dumbest thing ever! I lost all the time whether it was a sport or not, I lost. Did you know that there is an entire channel for children ages 6 months -2 years! The parents plop their little kid in front of the tv for hours now and call themselves good parents. When I have kids others can say whatever they want (my kids can too!)

because of the way this world is today, i agree with a lot of what you say. this world has gone to hell in a hand basket, but to use foul language around a child is not right. why use it anyway? children are taken for granted because no care anymore. child predators, molesters, and black market trade. tell me why? does no one care about the children anymore? we can buy a child on the black market any day of the week. why is their care? to be sold as a slave for what ever purpose. what of all the children starving to death for lack of food. yes the world is a hard and cruel place but we can try to take a little of the world filth and hide it some so that it doesn't scare them slap out of their wits. we must start protecting the children more.
anyway that is my opinion.
blessed be,
Elizabeth

Yeah, I think parents have the biggest influence on their kids' behaviours but unfortunately too many of them want to hand that job over to society. Look at the result! I suppose kids gunning down their classmates is the fault of the Internet.......

ur rite about the cursing thing n the winning n losing. but some kids r just trashy n dress like ho's. n for sum reason people make a bigger deal when their kid says the word 'crap' than when the 10 yr old's runnin around naked. i agree wit u on that.

It's called RESPECT. Everybody deserves it, especially young children who are innocent and have never disrespected YOU. But, obviously, SOME people don't know the meaning of the word!

I understand your frustration and share it.
However...... if I want the right to be ticked off when some jerk is behaving like an ***, I'd better not be the reason he is one.

It take an entire tribe to raise its children.
Even if you dont agree, you're involved.
