Try running a spy ware program and make sure all is clear there. Then you can defrag and run disc clean up to help clean your hard drive. These can be found by going to start, programs, accessories, system tools. This should help you.

try a disc defrag on it...that will compress exsisting files and free up any memory that's left on your computer....it should make your computer run faster too....you can also delete programs that you don't use at all or as often as others...that makes it go faster too...sometimes it's just the browser that has problems, or the site that you're visiting.

overheating in hot weather and bad memory can cause machine to lock up. Check air vents are clear. Other reason are old drivers or old bios you could try upgrading these to see improvement . Dell.com for up to date drivers

Are you using AOL? I had trouble with AOL myself. AOL messed up my hard drive with their program stuff. I suggest trying to delete or remove AOL and see if it runs any better.
