I’m 16 years old and on the pill. I had sex with my boyfriend on the night of June 24 the vary next day I left for Mexico for vacation, while there I accidentally forgot to take my pill for several days. When I got home I started my period on the July 2nd though my period lasted five days like normal for me on the pill, it was vary light, using light tampons for the first three days and then only vary light spotting for the next two. The first time I had any sign of pregnancy was the 5th when I threw up early that morning and other then that I had an increase in appetite but the smell or consumption of food would make me sick. I wouldn’t throw up but was miserable until I wasn’t full anymore. Usually I could only eat about a handful of food at a time before I started feeling sick. Then another week or so with my queasiness I threw up again, after eating in the afternoon. I have also been experiencing irregular sleeping patterns often-needing naps during the day. Well, then I began to loose weight (I have been exercising more then usual). I am still having an increase in physical activity but now I’m beginning to gain weight back a vary miniscule amount but odd for the fact that I had been loosing weight, and my food intake while slightly better is still not vary successful. Today was the worst sign of fatigue yet, though for the entirety of summer I have been getting a full 8 hours of sleep tonight for some reason I slept for 12 hours something VARY uncommon for me. Typically, even if I don’t have anything to do, I will always sleep just 8 hours typically during the summer I stay up till around 1 in the morning and wake around 8 possibly nine. Yet today I went to sleep at one in the morning and woke up and nearly one thirty in the afternoon. I have been also experiencing unusual lower back pain and a brownish red discharge over the past few days. I have had pregnancy scares before but this is by far the worst this is the only time I have ever had actual symptom not just paranoia. I have been under an unusual amount of stress lately so that could be it but if not I want to make sure. Please if any of you have an idea please tell me.

If you do not have an Ob/Gyn you see, make an appoinment with whomever perscribed you the pills. Your symptoms might be indicative of MANY things besides pregnancy. You should see your doctor ASAP, if only so that you can discover why you have these symptoms, and what your options are. I don't blame you for being scared, but until your doctor tells you what is going on, you need to take a deep breath, and try not to panic yourself into inaction.
Good Luck

First things first, Relax! There is a possibility that you are pregnant. From the symptoms you are having (light period, fatigue, sickness, etc) it sounds like you could be pregnant. The only way to know for sure is to take a pregnancy test. Since your last period started on July 2nd you should be able to take a pregnancy test and get accurate results. The earliest a test can be taken accurately is about 3 days before your next period is due. To ensure you don't get a false negative wait until August 2nd and take a test. Try First Response. If you are not pregnant, make sure to take your birth control everyday at the same exact time to lower your chances of pregnancy. Good luck!

It could be stress or just a mental thing. I once thought I was pregnant and as soon as I seriously thought I was I began having all the same symptoms you are having and I missed like 3 periods. You need to go to your local health department and or go to walmart and buy a pregnacy test. I would buy the 2 pack so you can take one this week and then another next week. You need to take them in the morning because that is when the hormone level is really high and well be easier to detect. Get Clear blue easy or EPT...that is what my friend and I both used. Good Luck.

It sounds possible, though you may have picked up a bug while on vacation. It's better to take a quick test to be sure.
Remember for future use the pill is not 100% effective even when used correctly, if you want that 97-99% effectiveness you need to remember to take it as directed. If you want 100% birth control use another form of birth control with the pill (better even yet to abstain for absolutely effective birth control).
A pregnancy test is easy to use and not expensive, only about $10, pick one up so you can make plans for the future or put your mind at ease.

Well the best option would be to go and get a pregnancy test, but to me you don't sound pregnant. It is to early for you to be feeling queesy if you were pregnant. since you are only 16 it sounds like you might be having some hormonal changes, your body is still growing and it probably just needs more sleep! even light discharge after your period (for me) is normal, Maybe you caught something from Mexico, I did when I went there for my graduation trip!!

I doubt it, if you had a cycle, short or long. You still had a cycle. The pill issue is if you had sex AFTER missing the pill. You haven't missed a cycle yet and it sounds like you are ready to get it again - hence the back pain and spotting.
Keep taking your pills your only 16 but be a little more responsible.

Why don't you go to a store and get a pregnancy test, or go to a free clinic and get tested. Either of these methods will keep your privacy intact and help to confirm what you are suspecting, or signal that maybe something else is going on and you need to see a doctor. Either way, playing around with your healt is never a good idea.

it sounds like you are to me id try going to a hospital and getting checked out... but all those pregnancy pills do is make your body think its already pregnant so sometimes when you dont take them for awhile you feel the same symptoms as pregnancy, but if this has been going on for a while then your most likely are pregnant, go get checked outrun some tests... what ever happens to you i hope everything works out and dont feel so bad about it either

YES. You have me convinced. You just described the last 7 weeks of my life and I am 7 weeks pregnant. Just go get a test. They are very accurate. Don't be scared, there is help out there for you. A baby is a beautiful thing no matter how it made it into the world.

Sweety, take a home test. Both pregnancy and stress could cause all these symptoms but you won't stop being stressed unless you know and you won't stop being pregnant if you don't know.
