Not one single band mentioned so far is a "hardcore" band.
Although....I guess we need to know what kind of "hardcore" we're talking about. To me, "hardcore" means "hardcore punk" - bands derived from Black Flag, Bad Brains & Minor Threat (and you can't go wrong with those bands). Agnostic Front & Sick of it All are both great hardcore bands, for starters.
But - these days - you probably need to be a little more specific about what exactly you mean by "hardcore" - because the term has broadened quite a bit over the years.

I like Green day, The All- American Rejects, Simple Plan, Switchfoot, more. Stay away from Slipknot I just looked it up on Itunes AND IT WAS UGLY!!
