Television
For the most part, I see television ( and video/computer games ) as hampering the creative ability of today's generation and previous generations as applicable. I watch only a couple of shows from time to time. As I was growing up we had no TV after about the 9th grade and I attribute that to helping me become an avid reader, a skill which I see many young people today loosing. I firmly believe in reading as a gateway to a better livelihood and without the skill, people are subject to low paying, minimal jobs.

Housing developments...or rather the people who operate them. Business has become so set on seeing how many housing developments they can build that it's become inhumane. Natural prairies and forests are being torn down without consideration to how it will affect the environment in the long run. A town adjacent to mine is now kicking people out of their perfectly good homes so that developers can buy the property and build condos...the town is claiming eminent domain as the reason they can do it. Someone justify to me how industry and technology are bettering our lives, because I don't see it.
