1) Yes, it is still ok for girls to play with dolls. You are the mother, you do not need societies permission to raise your children properly.

2) Of course it is ok for young boys to play "daddy". As long as you make sure he knows he's "daddy" and not "mommy". Remind your son that he doesn't have to act effeminate in order to be a loving father.

3) Never force feministic views on a boy. Feminists often try to convince a boy he likes "feminine" things, when he isn't interested. If he trades the doll for a monster truck, allow him. When he begins puberty and no longer wants to play "family", but wants to play football, basketball, etc... allow him. This doesn't mean he has neglected his faternal instinct. He is only reacting to the energy burst of testosterone.Trying to force a boy to act against his masculine nature can cause homosexuality. He will begin to think he has to be female in all aspects, including sexual.

Yes, it's fine. Most little girls like dolls; being a mommy is instinctual for most girls. Some don't have the instinct, though, so don't push it if she doesn't want a doll. I always traded my dolls for baseballs or frisbees. Mom gave up after a few lost dolls.

And yes, let the boys play with dolls, too. Boys also need to learn how to be caring, giving people.

No, it's not abnormal. As a matter of fact, I think encouraging a young boy to be nurturing and caring toward others is a positive influence that could have a great impact on him later in life.

Allow children to develop the personality they have within them. Play is a good way for them to grow and shape their future. They will be what you let them be and what you guide them to be.

Dolls are not a problem for any of my 4 children (2 boys). They are all healthy and well adjusted with a deep respect for all forms of life, animal and human.

One loves horses, one - music, one - flying, and one likes travel and meeting new people. They bring me honor and pride. Let your children be who they are meant to be. Just keep them away from bad influences.

Peace.

It's best to not mold a child in a set way. Watch and encourage what they are interested in. Give them a variety of choices and see what they prefer. Trust the child, within reason of course.
