what's the point of advancing the time on your watch if you know that it is advanced when you look at it?

So you're not late to appointments.
That's why mine is set ahead. I really don't think about it being ahead, but I suppose if that's a problem, you could always have someone else set it ahead sometime when you don't know. That way you're not sure wether it's actually set ahead or not.

For those of us that are always caught in the hustle of day to day, we do alot of stuff subconciously. When we look at our watches we think thats the time. If we constantly analyze the time, then you reallize its ahead. For the people in rush, they look at their watch and think that is the time, because they do not think about it. The key is not to think about it, and eventually you will forget that you ever advanced it. This has kept me from the 5-15 minutes late to work everyday.

I just live my life as if it is really the time on my watch... ( about 7 minutes ahead). That way I am never late ( usually early ) for work and important things in my day.

Honest, it does work. Maybe because most of the time, you forget how much you advanced your watch by, also because you're getting the time from different plpaces, so you forget your watch is particularly "set up."

We seem to value pretenses over reality.
We are taught early on, that images are more important than content.
That lies are more effective than truth.
When someone is at war with reality. Lies are the best tools to use, absolutely! The truth only serves reality. Blah who wants to be effective in reality anyway. We all have heaven to look forward to.

It's an age old mind game that works. It causes a trigger reaction that is involuntary. Logic has no place in it.
