im all for the honda and acuras, but nissans last forever, and i dont' want to be paying hundreds on gas every month or two.. any ideas on a cheap, decently fast car, that has good gas mileage?

you really have to go with one that you like alot, check out and research on autotrader.com or yahoo cars and they provide extensive info on fuel economy and powerof the car you think will suit you, if cost is not an issue then consider the alternative fuel cars (hybrids),.good luck and enjoy your search

I just bought a 2006 Nissan Sentra and I love it. It gets good gas mileage, but I can't remember the exact amount of miles that you get for each gallon. And it's very important to have good gas mileage these days as we all know. And also, we shopped around and we got a lot more for our money than we would have gotten with a Honda or a Toyota, we didn't check out Acuras, though. And the car we had before this one was a Nissan Stanza that was 16 years old and still going, but the front end needed some work.

As far as mileage is concerned (on average), Hondas are the way to go. I didn't know Nissans lasted forever though - I've seen lots of old hondas on the road too.

My (manual) Focus could travel about 100 miles on about a quarter of a tank. Didn't have too bad of a pep. It's no 10 second car, but could get the job done with a nice sports exhaust...

Mazda 3. I have one and they are decent with high speed, handle really well and great gas mileage.
