I have a California license but I got a speeding ticket in Texas while visiting. Does anyone know whether this will have an effect on my insurance premium or whether or not I can go to traffic school?

Texas reports unpaid traffic tickets (which turn in to arrest warrants) to the state issuing your license. Your state will suspend your license if you do not pay it by a certain deadline. Your insurance company would probably drop you after that. I suggest you pay it.

It will likely show up on your driving record. I live in Arkansas and got a ticket in west Texas. It was on my record for three years.

dont worry about it . . I got three tickets in Vegas w. my CA dl & they never came back to haunt me. . . I just paid them when the bill came in the mail. Every time it happens I pay it & NEVER have seen any of them on my CA DMV report . . nor has my insurance ever said anything to me. I would imagine if you didnt pay them that they would hit your credit report though... or I wouldnt have paid them.

All the states talk to each other now. It's not like in the past where one state didn't notify another state.
