How do internet cards work? Do have to pay for service or do you just pay for the card and get service wherever you go?

Well WiFi cards are generally paid for once and you'll be able to use your WiFi network or any other non-locked network for free generally some coffee houses have it and and some hotels. If you are talking about a WAN, which you pay for every month from a provider like T-Mobile,Sprint,Virizon etc. you'll generally be able to use there netowork to access the internet where ever there service works.

The cards just enables your computer to make a Internet connection wireless via broadband. You still have to have access to a wireless Internet service provider.
