In his 5 year career, he has started 51 games, which averages about 10 games per season. His completion percentage is about 54%, which is not great. He's only thrown for a little over 9000 yards, which averages out to less than 2000 yards per season. He's only thrown 51 touchdowns in his career along with 39 interceptions. His career passer rating is 75.8, which is mediocre at best. Those are far from "star QB" numbers. He threw for over 300 yards in one game last year and they lost. He threw for over 200 yards only 4 times and they were 2-2 in those games. That means that in 12 games last season, he threw for less than 200 yards. Is that all it takes to be a star QB in the NFL. I'll take Tom Brady any day of the week over Michael Vick. Brady threw for less than 200 yards 3 times (199, 185, and 37 in the final game, which he only played a couple of series). He threw for over 300 yards 4 times and won all 4 times. Goes to show that SUCCESSFUL QB's stay in the pocket, throw it and win.

i wanna know who you're talking to cause most people I know bash him just like you are.

just so you know your 10 games per season, although accurate, is not justifiable. He didn't play most of his rookie year and missed almost an entire season with a torn up knee. In the 3 seasons he's played the entire year he's thrown for 2900, 2300, and 2400+ yd. Not great, but not horrible considering all the coaching changes and the makeup of the offenses he's been apart of. The team hasn't really had receivers that he's ever geld with, other than his TE.

his best year statistically was actually his second year, but since the he's been injured, adjusted to a new offense(that most say it takes a couple of years to get), and been coached by 3 different QB coaches. He even took his team to the NFC championship.

He's not gonna be Manning or Brady or even like a Warren Moon type that's not him. But he will be sucessful. Give him time. People give QBs like David Carr the benefit of the doubt, why not Vick.

i agree with most of what you said. the only thing i dont agree with is successful QB's stay in the pocket. however most of what you said is true. Vick does suck in his throwing arm. that is why he runs so much. maybe why tom brady stays in the pocket is because he doesnt run that fast. any way the fact still remains that vick cant get the job done. he had a good WR when price was with ATL and he still has a good receiver in TE alge crumpler. and i am sure dunn is more than capable of catching the ball. vick is just a hog. if he were in the NBA he would be kobe. the falcons did bring a new QB coach. i hope that can make vick come out of his shell. if not i would trade him. i am sure they will get some good players for him.

As much as people will label me a racist pig. Because he was supposed to be the next great black QB. Well guess what he sucks, and he always will. He will never have a break-out season because he doesn't have it in him. Any QB that that has instincts to run first had better change their act in high school because it won't fly in the NFL. He doesn't have the mechanics or the instinct to stay in the pocket, and become a true QB, and for all the prophets that say that his style will be the new style. They've been saying that since Randall Cunningham, and Kordell Stewert, and they will both be remembered as being mediocre at best

You can't compare Brady with Vick... they're entirely different. Brady is understated, Vick is over the top. Vicj has also rin for 2,820 yards over his 5 year career. In 6 years, Brady has rushed for 333. The difference is Vick isn't as good a passer but he's a better playmaker. That also leaves him more mistake prone and injury prone. Brady has had a far better supporting cast, particularly on defense... and we all know defense wins championships.

Successful QB's do stay in the pocket and win, and the only scrambling QB I can remember having the ultimate success is Steve Young, but what is your measure of success. Sure, he can't throw the ball well at all, but the Falcons have a pretty good record when plays. He has brought them to the playoffs, is the only QB to lead his team to a playoff victory in Lambeau Field, and I may be wrong, but didn't they make the NFC Championship game? A lot of great QB's never win a Superbowl, but are still great. Vick is an amazing athlete, but not a great QB. He is however a winner. Personally, I hate him, I'm a Saints fan. But after years of Aaron Brooks, you could give me Vick anyday.

he sucks at throwing passes, and like u say, "QB's stay in the pocket, throw it and win" well her revolutionized the game, in a game against him u have to create a special playbook just to stop him from scrambling. he is like the new generation of qb, i think this is great, because i dont kno about u, i play as a linebacker, during football season i train soo hard, a run drills at a 100% run all day hit all day, and just in practice, after practice i have lunch and at night i go lifting for like two hours. in the ofseason i lift like crazy i try to gain more weight in muscle even though people say i am doing too much, i work as hard as i can every day, and that is the price almost every player in the team has to do to make it to the nfl, an it makes me sick to kno that a qb can make it without going to the gym once in all of his carrer. just think about what does it take physically. they go to practice and throw, when we play them, we are not allowed to hit them, so he doesnt run, he doesn hit nor gets hit, all he does is throw the ball. and dont tell me he works on learning the plays and throwing the ball, i kno it takes a lot out of u to go over all the plays and learn them, and review how the other teams play, but cmon im a linebacker i do that too, but adding that i also do a lot of excercise. so im glad there is finally an athlete playing that position. i mean, i kno he cant, but if he could combine the passing with the running he will be no doubt the best qb

They think hes so great because in high school he was the bomb he led his team to four consecutive state championships, other than that he really hasn't done anything worth mentitoning is that he led virgina tech to the national championship and that he also led the falcons farther into the playoffs than they have ever been, other than all of this the main reason he so popular is that he remains in the public eye by hanging on to the lastest trends. If he did his on thing other than run around the football field he would be a nobody.

It's because he's fun to watch, that's all. And there are still a lot of people who think that quarterbacks win games (when, in fact, TEAMS win games).

No, he's not a great quarterback. He doesn't seem to be too interested in becoming a great quarterback either. He wants to run the ball, and that's it. He's blown off everyone who tries to teach him how to complete passes at this level. It's sad really. He could have been one of the greatest of all time. Now, he seems like a waste.

I like him because he is fun to watch. If he would stay healthy, he would be a force. I have enjoyed watching him since he was at VT, so I have been a fan for a while. Not to mention that he has revived football in Atlanta by bringing in the crowd for games. You can have Tom Brady even if he wins the next 10 Super Bowls. It is about loyalty to your favorites and Brady will NEVER be one of mine.

People think Michael Vick is such a great QB because of his athleticism and that's basically it. He brings money into the stadium because of the moves he makes on opposing defenses by running. Just give him time in his career and it's going to look more like "AIR VICK".
