I guess it could or not, but I am not sure. I think it would depend on whether or not I want it to mean yes

It usually means I have something holding me back from saying yes. If I mean yes, I say yes.

If I say I guess it means my answer is proberly a Guess-timate.
I'm hedging my bets that with the Internet do people really need 2 Guess anymore!

Depends of sitiation.
But usually I say I guess only when I' really not sure if I'm right or not.

i guess means yes, but they really wanna say no. just like maybe means no but i'll give you a little hope that i will say yes.

Its a response that a person with little self-esteem gives. They are afraid to commit to anything.
Same with "who knows", that one really is telling. My suggestion is to distance one self and all that one values from these people, or guess what? You have intentionally ignored the warning signs. And you have low self-esteem too. Get busy working on it. We can all use help in this important area.

most of the time yes it does mean yes. hell all the time someone says that it means yes. whenever i use it it means yes. i mainly use it when so one asks me to do something i dont wanna do and i dont wanna hurt their feelins and say no but then again i dont wanna do it so i dont wanna say yes so i just say i guess.in other words it does mean yes

When I say it, it usually means, "No, not really, but I'm gonna go along just to keep the peace." It's a compromise.
