Plants need light, air or water to survive, take one away and youre done. On my allotment I used to put an old carper over the top for the winter, looks silly but no effort involved and then when you get rid of it in the spring all weeds have gone, similarly people mulch with black plastic underneath, or lay stones with back palstic underneath, you can even buy special weed supresing plastic that allows water through, check your garden centre.

Try cutting the weed down as far as you can and then pour chlorine bleach on them. you need to do this in the hot part of the day as the sun and heat help activate the chlorine in the bleach. It's cheap and can be found in most homes.

Buy some cheap no name brand white vinegar. Pour it right on the weeds. Give it a couple of days and they'll be dead! That's what I do to the weeds that sprout up between my patio blocks. Good luck to you.
