That won't happen in our lifetime. There are too many Muslim countries represented in the UN's General Assembly. Their idea of what is right in a conflict is determined by the religious orientation of the various combatants. If one of the combatant countries is Muslim, that is the country they will vote to support -- regardless of who is the aggressor.

How many of the dozens of Muslim countries in the UN are supporting Israel at this time? The answer is three (3). Muslim terrorists (Hamas and Hezbollah) attacked Israel, and Israel is now exercising it's right under international law to defend itself. Yet the community of Muslim nations condemn Israel for acting lawfully.

1. Removal of the veto power in the Security Council

2. Give the UN the power to 'enforce' the peace rather than to 'keep' it.

3. Give the UN the ability to enforce its resolutions rather than letting nations ignore them as they often do.

All the countries have to do is stand up and support its resolutions. It's no use passing resolution 1234 and then doing nothing. It must act, but alas I don't think this will happen which is why it's a talking shop.

It really can't in its current state, Russia and China veto everything important to the West, and the west does the same.
