can a gas stove melt a dime

It will make it soft if left for several long hours.

I dont think so! I tried that several years ago,burnt the hell out it but it didn't melt down.

Not hot enough.
A small brazing, soldering setup with propane and oxygen will do the job.

no it doesn't normally get hot enough but with a blow torch or my personal favorite a plasma cutter wah-hahaha it and melt just about anything!!!!!!!!!!!
