Personally I would want Ty Cobb, Rogers Hornsby, or Josh Gibson. Ty Cobb was one of the greatest hitters of all time, and was an awesome clutch hitter. He has the second highest batting average only to Pete Rose, which is also saying a lot. Plus, he was so fast he could lay down a suicide squeeze and beat out the throw to first.
Rogers Hornsby would be a good choice because he had over a .350 lifetime average, won the batting title about eight or nine years in a row, and has the highest slugging percentage for any right handed hitter of all time.
I would want Josh Gibson because he is said to be the all time home run leader. It is rumored he has hit over 900 home runs, 160 in a season, and batted over 350 lifetime, playing against pitchers like Satchel Paige.

okay in this sutation I want david eckstein or ichiro hitting, because they never strike out, and I know they are going to put the ball in play. It's not like you need a ball that is ripped because even an infield hit would do the trick if the baserunner is on third. So to answer your question david eckstein or ichiro.

Assuming that you only need to score the man on third, Tony Gwynn, Rod Carew, Rogers Horsby, or Ty Cobb
