Well here is the problem with my FORD, it just won't shift, I start the car and and play with the shifter (automatic) and it just would not do anything in the tranny. If anyone could tell me what the problem could be, that would be essential.....I asked arround at different shops and the mentioned that it could be the actual transmision......I have a feeling that they are just beating arround the bush.......??

They're right, the problem is probably the transmission. If you're not getting anything wen you play with the shifter.. that's more than likely it. If it was something else, you would get some resistance or hear it click or hold .. get the tranny checked out. it's a 96'.. transmissions do go.
