How to Remove deleted Operating Syetm on a multi-Operating Sytem upon boot up?
I actually deleted my windows 98 which shares the same location/drive/prompt with my Windows 2000sp4, I tried to remove
win98 from msconfig but that doesnt work out, I also tried to edit it and remove it at system panel at advance tab start-up and recovery, it didnt work out either how can I remove this win 98 at boot up?any idea......

your system is confused it doesnt know what file belongs with which system because they are mixed together on the same partition. you need to reformat the hard drive and then reinstall 2000 or whatever system you do want to use. never ever install 2 operating systems on the same partition. if you want 2 systems like windows and linux red hat then get 2 hard drives and have one on each. thats the best you can do is reformat and start over again.

right click on your "MY COMPUTER" icon, select the advanced tab, towards the bottom click on Startup & Recovery, in a box there you should see your default operating system, if you click on edit you'll open the "boot.ini" file and you'll probably see more than one operating system listed in that file, delete the one you no longer want then save the file, but be very careful and make sure it's the right one. =)
PS your options might vary depending on OS but they're mostly the same. Good luck.

1. Double check file boot.ini at your system drive, usually C: drive
2. Make sure your PC load Win2K at start up, use the Windows Setup Disk, and try the DOS command format C: /MBR to fix your master boot record.

The best way is to format the partition with the operating system that you don't want it.. you must format it under DOS using a start up disk, the best start up disk is Win 98 start up disk and format it.. That's all

by chaning boot.ini, it will be under c drive as hidden and read only.
make unhide files in the folder. Change boot.ini property to write.
Becarefull before you delete any entry, but u can delete WIN98 whole on row line and save it.

change through boot.ini file..
otherwise in windows2000 select the my computer right click properties in that select advance tab go to start up and recovery setting from that you can remove...1
