I think they were real at one time! They're mentioned in the bible! I think dragons were real too.

Think of it this way: Out there in the universe, a Unicorn could be on some other planet, an alien horse.

I don't think they're real. May be there was a horse with some abnormal growth on its forehead... over the centuries (perhaps) the tale got distorted and gave birth to a Unicorn.

As far as I know, no one has ever seen an actual one-horned horselike creature, so it is still myth unless we do. "Real-life" unicorns are sometimes made by forcing a goat's horns to twist around each other, but that is not the same thing and is cruel to the goat.

There are two well-known forms of unicorns, equine unicorns, which are the kind most frequently found in fantasy art, and there are also unicorns that appear more like goats that are used mostly in English artwork, especially from the middle ages, I believe.
In actuality there is a man by the name of Oberon Zell-Ravenheart who breeds unicorns (the goat-like ones). He took regular goats and bred them to grow only one horn in the center of their heads. Google him and take a look!

Unicorns are real, and to slay one is a great crime that will stick you into a half life that is not worth living unless the scorcerers stone is near in which case you can drink the elixir of life, and get a body back. Their hair is really valuable for wand making wands and bandages. Their horns are great for potions. Drinking their blood will curse you forever.

Well, they're mentioned in the book of Job of the Bible. Use an online searchable Bible and search for it. I don't recall the verse number.
In Medieval times it took a virgin to catch one. You'd get the virgin to go with you out at night in the woods and when the unicorn came it would lay its head in her lap. Worth a try at as a pickup line anyway.

Mythical. In greek mythology, they are creatures with the body of a horse, the feet of an elephant, and the head of a deer with a single black horn. I just had to read about that stuff for an AP class I'm gonna be taking. Kinda strange huh? ~
