Okay I have another question up here about fish. Some of the answers said not to get the tank I was going to get. I am definitely getting a 5 gallon tank, so no responses saying buy a bigger tank, not helping my issue. So, which tank is better?

All-Glass Mini Bow 5 or the Marineland Eclipse Hex 5

Marineland Eclipse Hex 5
Has a three step filter system rather then a two , runs quieter, and has a better lighting system

I'd say the marineland eclipse 6, not one of your choices, but better tank layout than the hex, and better filter than the mini bow
Remeber, a betta and a few shrimp are about the only things that can go in there, regardless of what fish stores that make money based on how many fish they sell say

The Marineland Eclipse Hex 5 by far because has a built in filtration system with the bio-wheel which not only filters the water but it also puts air into the water. That's definitely the way to go, believe me!

The Eclipse is a perfectly fine complete set-up. I'd go with that one.

My two cents? Bigger tanks are easier to cycle and take care of. Since the 5-gallon is so small, I can guarantee it will never cycle. You will have to do 20% water changes about once every three or four days to keep ammonia levels in check. And you must also be sure you don't overstock your tank. Do not count on getting a goldfish - that's just not going to work.

Perhaps a betta and a couple of ghost shrimp. Or three guppies (you'll need to keep them in a 2:1 female to male ratio and be forewarned, they breed like crazy). You cannot put any schooling fish in there, as most schools need to be kept in groups of six or more (seeing as how you have room for five one-inch fish, and that's bordering on overstocking the tank).

Good luck.

accually the bigger the tank the easier it is to keep clean and less work. a 5 gallon is ok for 2 fish.

at least a 10 gallon tank. and it also depends on the size of the fish. At walmart they sell 10 gal tanks for $10. i think its a good size foe a couple of small fishes.

Get the Eclipse. The BioWheel filter that it has is good.
