It doesn't look like anything would happen. It appears Israel only wants to take over the entire area. It claims to want to make peace with its neighbors, but it looks like it wants to do so by making sure there aren't any neighbors...

I think Israel would withdraw and go home, like they've said they would do again and again. Of course Hezbollah is a problem and will have to eventually be dealth with. They loom there on the border threatening Israel like an Ali Baba menace, and they would attack again. Hamas is the same menace to the south.

The problem is Islam, and I say that knowing how politically incorrect it is. 99.9% of terrorism is Islamic today, and all muslims support it to some extent. They dont condemn it openly. They instead choose to deflect it towards Israel. Never a straight answer to a direct question, its always "well, Israel did this, or Israel did that". Its never what muslims did. NEVER!

It's a moot question. Hezbollah and Iran want to destory Israel completely, so they won't give the soldiers back. It's not about the soliders. That was a trigger, but not the gun itself.
The goal of Hezobollah and Iran, who supports them, is nothing less than to annihilate Israel. Israel has no choice but to fight,
and better it be fought now and fast than drug out over a long period of time. Then more people on all sides will be hurt.

Israel would immediately suspend attacks. The UN would get involved and try to produce a long term peace settlement. the problem is that this is based on a change in attitude to Israel's existance, and that it is very unlikely.

the war will end immediately. israels justification for attack will be removed. firing into israel and justifying the killing of civilians by hezbollah and then turning around to accuse Israel of killing civilians is hypocracy. the release of lebanese prisoners in israeli jails should have been handled through diplomacy from lebanon. a lot of the prisoners in jail are accused of having participated in attacks on Israel. stop firing into Israel and they'll stop firing into you.
