I am amazed that people are so willing to listen to the rants of a woman who simply plagerizes much of her work. I can appreciate a good debate as long as it's based on some sort of original thought and not just a name calling session.

I believe that the people who line up behind the Coulters and Limbaughs of this world are not really conservatives.

They are reactionaries. Actually rather radical and dangerous to the freedom of America.

In her case it is hard to understand the appeal. She is shrill, callous and really rather ugly in every way that matters.

But, these are wierd times, and a lot of people really want to embrace repression, so that they will not have to deal with the responsibility of thinking for themselves. So they turn to Rush or
Ann to tell them what to think, then they parrot it to everyone as if they had it on the best authority.

Democrats, liberal and otherwise, are a varied lot. They tend to argue with one another, and hold many shades of opinion. It makes the party seem scattered, but really it is a sign of the freedom the party represents. Moderate Republicans are getting harder to find. They find they are coerced into agreeing with the far right fringe or risk being ostracized. Around election time the GOP hauls out the myth of the Big Inclusive Tent. But really when all is said and done that's only for show. It's the far right that gets to call the shots...

The Rushheads and Coulterheads represent people who are in absolute lockstep with their sound bite gurus, and, you would think, with the leaders in Washington. However the actual leadership doesn't really mean half of what it says --a lot gets said to obscure and misdirect,
and a lot of rhetoric gets uttered around election time that somehow vanishes away right after the election.

What famous American President ran on the ticket of a smaller government, and not being the world's policeman? That would be the president we have right now. Shows that what gets said and what really is meant are two vastly opposing things.

Short answer: They don't. Coulter and her ilk on both sides of the aisle are good for a couple of shock-value laughs, but then their banter gets old fast. Even though she talks about politics, Ann Coulter is just an entertainer, and not a very good one. Smart people from both ideological camps recognize this.

Real politics needs much more discussion than sound bites or one-liners. But those don't sell books. That's why Coulter is still around -- she's like the Blue Collar Comedy of politics.

Conservatives give their money to purchase her books for the very fact that she gives simple answers to complex problems; answers that are grounded in emotion rather than evidence. Her rhetoric exudes such sarcasm and vitriol that conservatives, with pent up anger at the supposed waywardness of liberal society, can easily relate to it. Her brazen disregard for solid research concerning her claims – a trait in her writing that Al Franken so skillfully illustrates – allows her to vilify liberals to a degree that would not be possible had she any respect for truth. Its no wonder that conservatives find her so appealing.

What I find odd is that conservatives are so blinded by their contempt for the liberal establishment that they fail to see the hypocrisy in Ann Coulter’s own life. She speaks fondly of the military, motherhood, and traditional values, yet her own lifestyle belies these cornerstones of American life. She has no military background what so ever, and she is a career minded individual who, being a middle aged woman already, has not taken the time out to get married or have kids of her own. How can she be the voice of conservative values is confounding.

The same way liberals back up Al Franken. This all stupid. Everyone here is calling everyone who disagrees some sort derogative monocre. Everyone needs to realize that there is a MIDDLE GROUND and you all have to stop flinging poop to see it! We are self destructing and you don't care. It as about "We need a conservative/liberal in office" not "We need the best man/woman/friggin chimpanzee in office"!!! Whatever. All you liberals/conservatives are whiney brats and need to open your eyes.

A country divided is a country defeated. Now Shut Up!

It is called MONEY which is more important than the truth. Grant it both sides do it but not to the level of Ann Coulter, not even Micheal Moore.

She would club baby seals for money.

Ann Coulter:
She is a racist, a homophobe, hates women (figure that one out), lies on a constant basis, she advocates the killing of people that do not agree with her, she advocates terrorist acts against the NY Times. In short, she's just a hateful little worm. I think that is why she appeals to the rightwing kool-aid drinkers.

Because she make a great point. I see not plagerizing. She gives credit for any quote.

It's a matter of preception, After reading few of her articles and watching her on TV I personally do not care to read her literature or listen to her anywhere.

Because every other loudmouth is a liberal. We needed someone to put a voice to all the things we'd been thinking for years.
