I just got out of a relationship and the person I was with abused my atm card which put me on the chex system and I am unable to resolve the problem.

Someone advised me to go online and type in 2nd chance banking where I can start an account, get a debit card and go from there, you can also call some places but I dont know enough about these companies, does anyone have any suggestions about any banks who does 2nd chance banking or has anyone ever started an account online?

Dont go that route, you will be hit with fees from the bank. Go get you a DBA from your local court house to create a small business for your self (Cost, around $20) then go to IRS.gov and get your a TIN (Tax Identification Number) for banking purposes (Cost, $0.00) and open you a bank account under the TIN and DBA. Since you are a sole propriator, your taxes will be coupled at the end of the year under your social security number, just make sure to list any interest earned from your bank account. You can have a regular bank account, with checking and savings with any bank.

be careful there could be a lot of fee's and some may be hidden alot of times one bad check affects the next one when you get the fee for the first one then you have 2 bad checks!! which affects the 3 check.... don't give anyone ur pin number the bank makes u sign that u are responsible for any transaction that ur pin number is used.
