I have no idea why you would want a garder, they are fast and hard to keep a hold of. You sound like a kid, and you would be better off with something that is easier to handle. Some placid snakes that will not bite are king snakes, and rat (corn) snakes. I would start with an adult, because the little ones are notorious for getting loose. A larger speciment will cost about $100. You can try catching your own snake, but the ones you catch in the wild usually will bite.

Garter snakes can actually be more aggressive than others. But all snakes can bite you. Kingsnakes and corn snakes are some of the most docile for a new snake owner. As long as you handle them regularly. They are also easier to care for than garters in my opinion. Whatever you decide on you should do a lot of research before you get one. Make sure everything is set up right before you bring it home. There are good care sheets to read at http://www.kingsnake.com Reptiles need very special care. If everything is not perfect they will die.

Most exotic pet stores sell them but you well have to get on non native to your state. I had to get a western Garder snake because I live in Va the only difference is the markings

All snakes can bite if they are not used to being handled. Most pet stores will caryy corn snakes and ribbon snakes and they are both easy to handle. Check out this site for a list of snake breeders near you or to adopt a tame snake

sorry but all snakes can bite! you just need to find one that is not aggressive. And try your pet store, they can advise you on what kind of snake you should get and get you set up with what you need to take care of the snake. Good Luck

All snakes will bite in the event that they sense threatened. you may %. up a garder snake nevertheless. in simple terms grab it in the back of the back of the top. they at the instant are not aggressive, yet whilst cornered they are going to bite.

Go out in the garden and get one!

They all "bite", when you get near them...

They are not "meant" to be raised as pets...

(I marvel at some people, who cant get this through thier heads, and treat them as a pet or something even similar...)...

I wish you well..

I didn't think you could buy those. I see them all the time wild at my lake and in the country.

Is there a reptile store in your area? Perhaps they can order one in for you.
