depending on how old you are says a lot. if you are in your 20ies more than likely your parents have a had a hunch but may be dealing with denial. they need an confirmation. if you are younger and in your teens you'll need to sit down and have a real heart to heart. don't "over gay" it. eg..i'm here; i'm queer get used to it!. i would slowly dive into it. as far as bringing a guy in to the picture you may want to let your parents have some time to get used to the fact. i understand that you want to be who you are and i totally advocate that ...but do understand they are your parents and you will need their support more than any fag hag or other queen can give.

I dunno but this is how I told mine: I was going to the "gay" meetings at the college for a while to see what they were like; and people chatted about their coming out stories and what not. But one day when I was getting ready for one my mother asked me where we were going and why a friend wasn't.

Me: I'm going to the meeting at college...and Steve isn't going because he doesn't think that it'd benefit a straight guy...

*silence ensues*

Mom: Are you straight?

*I hesitate but tell the truth*

Me: No.

*more silence*

Mom: Oh.

I was on the computer at the time in the other room so it was awkward but after that, she was fine with it.
