It's not quite gone, but most people who aren't homeless have moved on to other looks.

Yes and good. I like the seventies and eighties better. I am sick and tired of Nirvana and Hole. Maybe I miss L7 once in a while. I do not even want to look at Scott Weiland anymore. Now music is improving again, with Ciara, Rihanna, the return of Evanescence, Kanye West, etc... I like old stuff by Bjork, Ten Thousand Maniacs, Marianne Faithfull, 54-40, The Vapors, Flock of Seagulls, etc. as well as classical.

As for fashion: While I am a fairly simple person and love old velvet dresses, loose pants, Indian style clothes, jeans, etc. I hated the grunge style. Mod and baby-doll dresses were fashionable and some adapted sixties styles, the elegant stuff, was great. Suzy Qwant was great but I hated dirty hair, ripped stone-wash jeans, platinum-blonde hair, red lipstick and Doc Martens. I remember Liz Hurley and Cindy Crawford looked quite good back then..

Grunge was a lot of plaid flannel shirts & Doc Martens interspersed with floral slip dresses and thermal clothing. Skin was pale, makeup & jewelry were minimal, and haircuts were sometimes severe. It took inspiration from Nirvana and "heroin chic" advertising.

It's gone, although with the 80's coming back at us grunge could be back too! I'm personally glad it's a thing of the past & hope it stays there!

The grunge style will be around as long as there are high school and college students with more brains and rebellion than money. :-)
