if he didn't get a red card he could still help the team and try to produce something special in the last 10 minutes..if that didn't happen in the last 10 minutes then it's a 50-50 situation..even if he scored in the penalty shootout it's just 1 goal out of 5 or even more..any team could have won the world cup when it comes to penalty shootout..you just need to focus on the job, get rid all the butterflies in your stomach and with a bit of luck the world cup is yours..

If Zidane didn't get the red card, he probably wouldn't have scored in the actual game (not counting penalty kicks), since Buffon is such a great goalkeeper. As for the penalty shoot-out, Domenech might have still chosen Trezeguet (the one who shot the crossbar). Really, though, when one circumstance changes, everything can change. Italy *was* better at playing on the field.

ZZ could have made buffon look like a college-boy keeper merely as he did interior the experience. Sheer type to conquer between the worlds superb keepers...against Zidane, no longer many have a huge gamble and the winner of the experience could have been France.

yes definitely. i think there is a very good chance france would have won if zidane had been in the shootout. but then again, that italian goalie was pretty amazing.

Trezeguet could have still missed the penalty shot, with or without Zidane.

may be yes...may be no

i had the feeling for a moment that zidane and henry would have missed the penalty if they continued to the penalty shoots.....as henry lost conscious in the beginning of the game(if you remember..it was in the first minute )......and zidane was injured in his arm..didnt you notice how zidane shot his penalty??he could have missed it easily....he was lucky it wasnt saved

no, they wouldn't have won. even if zidane had stayed it, they wouldn't scored in the last 10 minutes of overtime. during penalty kicks, EVEN if he had kicked and made, David Trezeguet was the one who missed the kick and technically lost the game for france. even if zidane had been in to kick, trezeguet would still have taken that shot that missed.

nope. i think that even if he had played for that last 10 minutes or so, he would have made that much of a difference.

if he would have participated in the penalty kicks, he probably would have made it but that only means that more kicks would have had to be taken...and buffon is a better goalie than barthez so i think that either way, italy would have won.

Maybe. But remember that Trezeguet missed his penalty even if all the others scored theirs. Well done Italy, you deserved to win!!

The would have won, no doubt. He would have been a HUGE influence in the OT's as well as penalty kicks.
