I totally agree with everyone before me. I'm glad people are responding this way. I have heard people say before that it's mean, "that could be anyone" EXACTLY! That could be anyone and they could hurt anyone.

Something even more contraversial, I would call even if it was my friend, ESPECIALLY if I had told my friend not to drive and they didn't listen. Don't drink and drive around me!

Well, if you're driving down the road and see someone driving erratically you should definitely call the police. You could be saving the life of an innocent stranger down the road. Even if it turns out that the person wasn't drunk, calling the police and having them check it out will at least get that person off of the road for a few minutes so they can collect themselves before they get back on the road.

By the way, that was a great question!!

This is a matter of public safety, if you see someone driving in a manner that is dangerous to other people as a citizen it is your duty to report it to the authorities. You may save someones life by getting an impaired driver off the road. Every year thousands of people are killed by drunk drivers, reporting this may prevent that from happening. Having the courage and sense of responsibility to report this kind of situation makes you a hero not a snitch.

Definitely call. I was next to a policeman and told him the driver on the other side of me was drunk. He didn't believe me until the light turned green and the drunk crossed over two lanes in front of the police and crashed into the center divider.

My brother was a Valet while he was in college. One time a guy came out of the restaurant visibly intoxicated. My brother offered to get the guy a cab, but the guy got belligerant and demanded his keys. Brother debated calling the cops, and didn't, and on the way home from work he saw the same guy wrapped around a tree. The drunk was not hurt, but he could have killed an innocent motorist.
Yes it's a difficult moral dilemma, but I think my brother regretted not following his instincts.

Do it. It could save a life. Yours, someone you love, or anybody. Drunk driving is for suckers and those that do it must pay the price.

i'd definately call, cause even if they're not drunk, they could still really hurt someone. they could still get arrested for reckless driving and stuff. you don't even need to mention if you think they're drunk or not, just say someone's like swerving all over the place or something like that.

Well I would do it. Just in case because what if he is and what if he hurts somebody? You have got to take those into account.
SO yes if they are swerving all over the place, call 911. You will be happy you did.

Do it! I've done it before. In New Mexico they've even put in a drunk driver hotline (I'm so proud our state needs one!).
