it sounds like you're trying to justify your situation and/ decision about staying at home. sometimes it's hard to break a custom or tradition that has been engrained in the family. since you asked, i think a woman limits herself to staying at home. women are able to multitask (i.e. work, raise children, clean house, etc.). however, staying at home doesn't mean you just lay around the house. as long as you're productive, who cares what others think. volunteer your time to an organization, a children's hospital or convalescent home, become crafty, cook homemade dishes, etc., just make sure that at the end of the day, you feel fulfilled.

I enjoy working, but I would love being a housewife at least half time, if I had the choice and the money I would work a few hours a day just to blow of steam and the rest of the day I would be a housewife. tough job, great rewards.
If you want, can and love it, remain that way.

No it's not a bad thing. I quit my job after being there for 10 yrs to be with my son. I had planned to go back to work but when I saw my son I just couldn't leave him. My husband and I had to learn to save more but I don't regret it and neither should you. They are only little once and you can't get back that time. I just didn't want babysitters seeing my kids first steps and hearing there first word. I admire women who choose to go back. It must have been a heartbreaking decision. But I wouldn't miss this for all the money in the world. There is no reason for others to look down on you. You have given up a career and the money that goes with it. Good for you, your children need you more than you need a job right now. Good luck and have fun with them.

I'm a housewife/stay-at-home mom. My husband and I decided together when I got pregnant that I'd stay at home and raise our son. For us, it was the best thing and personally I couldn't let other people watch my child while I worked. I would have missed out on soooooo many of his milestones!! I enjoy being at home and nobody I've ever met has looked down on me for staying at home. They usually say they wish THEY could do the same!!!

No, it's a good thing. We could probably use more of them. I think that some people look down on it because there are so many bad housewives out there. You know, the ones who sit around watching soaps all day and eating little debbie cakes while the house goes to sh*t. But if you are a good house wife and you keep a nice home, then more power to ya sister.

Whatever makes you happy. Being a housewife is not a bad thing; in fact, it's a lot of hard work as you clearly stated.

Why? Of course not. Do you think being a house wife is a lazy think? oh no! What ever the people doing in your office as like as same heavy duty a house wife doing in her own home, also she is not paid for that and she never expect wages for her duty. The whole house responsible belong to a house wife. She work as a an accountant, manager, Cleaning lady , Labor, Cook, Security, Teacher, Organizer, Telephone operator and more ... She is working more than 3 shifts 365 days in year.. Do you think this is bad think or shame about it? I don't think so...

This is a feminist concept, (definitely not a male concept). Feminists hate when women admit they enjoy being an at-home wife or mother. Women as yourself disprove their ideology that women only stood home thoughout the centuries because of male oppression. Ignore them. Do what pleases you.

It is whatever makes you happy, and for as long as you are happy then carry on doing what you want. These days, people look down on women who don't work and people also look down on those who do, so you can't win either way. Usually they are jealous, unhappy with their own lives or unable to change them.
