Get a black light...

Wait til its dark....

Turn the black light on, and shine it around every room...

He will be that "glow in the dark big stick" laying on the side of the wall some where...

I wish you well..

Think like the snake.

It's going to look for a small, dark hidey place, either cool or warm depending on the room environment. It probably won't go far if it can find what it wants in a semi-familiar location.

Open the cage and make sure the water dish is full. The snake might just slip back when you are not looking!

Start at the cage and figure if it would have gone up or down. Move the furniture the tank is on and look in every nook and cranny. About 90% of the time, they will be within 10' of the tank!

The problem you will have is that a.) it is tough for us big mammals to think like a little snake, so we often overlook the tiny hiding spaces they prefer, b.) there are a LOT of tiny spaces in a room, and c.) a kingsnake might have gone UP given a chance, while a Bullsnake, for example, would have definately gone DOWN.

Not necessarily.
I have had at least a dozen snakes get out of their home and have probably recaptured 3/4's of them.
First of all I am assuming you have lost the snake within your home. The first thing I did was confirmed that I didn't have any holes around plumbing or ??? that would lead outside or into the walls. Block those if you do.
Search under anything loose on the floor your snake might be hiding under. Remember the snake will probably follow the contours of the walls so check any hiding spots near any walls. Check any areas that may be slightly damp or more humid like in the bathroom or under the kitchen sink.
I captured one kingsnake on top of my bedroom dresser furniture. I had already gone to bed when I heard something hit the floor. The snake had knocked something off the dresser while he was climbing on it.
That reminds me - I have captured many of the escapees after dark when they are more active & more likely to be crawling about.
I have seen a snake trap that consisted of a lenght of 3" dia. PVC pipe that had inverted cones of wire that allowed the snake to crawl in but not crawl out.
Good luck!

my brother lost his snake too. he took a cagewith bars that are close together. he put a mouse in it with a lot of seeds. he moved the cage from room to room in our house. the snake finaly went in and ate the mouse and when he was done with his meal, he was to fat from the mouse to squeeze back through the bars. when my brother went to change rooms again, he was still there. but be pashant though. it took us 2 weeks to get the snake. we went into each room 2 times. we changed the cage every day at the same time. it works great. just make sure that the bars are pretty close together or he will be able to get back out.but alow the bars to be far enough apart thet he can get in.

Most King snakes (as well as corns) go up when they escape. Look around drapes , curtain rods , window sashes , pipes electrical wires etc. You could also try the food baited trap as was suggested previously. Good luck

Try putting a heating pad set on low near the cage he escaped from, and put a box over it with a hole in one side. He may be attracted to the heat and hide under it.

Not at all, he won't go far. I have had many escape and have found them all within a day or so no more than 3' from their aquarium. Look under dressers and in drawyers near the cage.
