does clipping a blinking light to my bum count when I run before dawn? It's sort of festive.

I've seen some places with lights on the home all the time. They aren't always on,though.
I like white lights- like in trees and in bushes. Restaurants do this to add to the outdoor atmosphere.
There are some towns, though that have ordinances against having the lights on other than Christmas time. (it's too keep homes from looking too junky)

I like christmas lights year round. I think they're very romantic. I do save special ones just for christmas though.

"Christmas" lights are not just for that occasion anymore. They are used for decor in any number of ways. Be creative and have fun. I would however draw the line at a Santa statue in the front yard in July...

No, they are just lights. Many people use them for various forms of soft-lighting.
In my opinion, they are only Christmas lights if they are on a tree.

Not necessarily. Near my friend's house they have this little shrine for the Virgin Mary on a piece of wood with X-mas lights around it all year long. Also, my friend has stringed X-mas lights in her room for decoration.

No it doesn't have to be Christmas to enjoy the lights. If you are in the mood for them hang them anytime.

No. Just as long as you don't have a christmas tree all year long either.
