Mainly domestic issues like crime, immigration laws, hurricanes, and the skyrocketing price of petroleum. America does not seem to care about international issues abroad like famine in Africa or Middle East wars, as we are powerless to stop these events or they do not directly affect us so everything is OK.
A teacher having sex with a student in our back yard seems to matter more than a tsunami overseas. Such a sad world.
