Anything that you put on your body - your skin, your nails, your hair can make its way into your bloodstream, affecting your liver and other internal organs. Look up some of the ingredients in the nail polish - they are extremely toxic.
My friend recently told me she heard that the OPI brand (which I see in EVERY salon) has been linked to birth defects. Check the resources below to start.
There are more "natural" brands of polish - go online or go to your local Wild Oats or Whole Foods or natural store. I use them - they work just as well & have as many colors.
Do a little research people.

yes, fingernails are not a living part of the body (the are basically specialized hairs). putting fingernail polish on them will not effect you at all, except you might look better. avoid the fumes they are not good for your babies.

Yes, just make sure that you do not bite your nails and "eat" the polish as that could hurt the baby. Otherwise, wear away.

Absolutely. The lacquer can't possibly absorb through your system and affect your baby. You probably want to stay out of places that do manicures and pedicures, though. The fumes in there could be potentially harmful for you to breathe.

Yes, though they may ask you to remove the polish when you go in to have your baby.

Sure you can! Just don't sniff the polish. polish your nails in a well ventilated area. I don't see how that will be a problem.

I read a lot of books on pregnancy when I was pregnant with both of my sons and I never saw anything that said you shouldn't.

Yes but just to be safe you should wear rubber gloves to avoid cross contamination.

Let me get this straight. Your unborn fetus is restraining you from polishing your nails? Just get someone else to paint them then.
