ClaireyC: no, your boyfriend is not joking. The colder it is, then the smaller the balls get, or at least, they scrunch up together and try to climb inside the body! When I was learning to dive, we spent ages in a not-very-warm public swimming pool - when we came out, I looked like a 9-year-old down there!

So the answer to the original question is that it's just the opposite of when they get cold.

Automatic cooling system. Sperm production works best 2 degrees celsius below body temperature. When its hot the muscle controlling the scrotum expands allowing the balls to drop and be cooled down.

Natural relaxation of the muscles so that they can stay as cool as possible, so you can impregnate as many women as possible.

Plus it doesn't say how old you are but the older you get the weaker your muscles get! Some women I know like them that way so not all is lost!

It's all to do with cooling down. When it's cold everything shrivels up to conserve the heat. When it's hot it expands so that more heat can escape.
Surely, you must have known/discovered that already?

your testicles are outside your body because they have to be 2 degrees low than the rest of you so when it is hot they expand to have move surface area which means more heat loss.
