I don't know. But you have to differentiate between practising Gays, and people who from time to time, may feel, that way inclined. I would say that the % of practising gays is very low, Say 5% maximum. I have lived a fairly normal life, and I have never come across an overtly gay couple living together.

there are no definitive figures some estimate as low as 1% others as high as 10% needless to say the gay lobby favours the higher figures. there is also the problem of do you include bi's, one-timers and the fact many are not open about thier sexuality.

Based on the information available (which isn't that much, because no proper study has ever been done), the government usually uses 10% as it's best estimate.
