I am taping an air conditioner in a window (I know, I shouldn't but I am!) using card board around the edges and want to know if duct tape is my best bet for staying power. I'm just trying to seal up any cracks so the cold air dosn't get out. The air conditioner is in an upper window so no break-ins to worry about just don't want any precious cold air to escape!

"Duck' tape and 'hundred mile an hour' tape are both versions of Duct tape. And yes, it's probably the most useful tape you can get. But after about a year or so, it will let go, so be prepared to do it again next year.

You know, you could just silicone seal some lexan into the opening. Then it'd be permanent.

If not duct-tape there is something else called "hundred-mile-an-hour tape" which I used in the Army. It's super.

Duck or duct tape should work.If it comes un stuck just replace since all you are doing is sealing the unit.
