India has a huge population that is very well educated and clamoring for a better lifestyle, China is also huge with some well educated people but focusing on manufacturing, Russia is just starting to emerge from the problems of switching to a market economy and they have a HUGE amount of natural resources, their population is stagnet but that seems to be changing now with a better economic future and they have a very highly educated population. If you are young I recommend learning Chinese or Russian. These places are where future growth in the world economy will come from.

In the long run gold & RE are not the best but gold definitely good right now. IAU is an etf that gives you direct gold investment. Some Reits ok but risk high for those right now. RRE or other close-end Reit fund better. GRP & other oil drillers solid.
