Wait you want to leave your first job correct? So do you care if they fire you? You already have your new job and that is the place where you want to work. The only thing that can be bad about that is you may not be able to use them as a reference for future use. If you have worked there for a while I would walk in to Human Resources and plead your case. You have tried to give your 2 week notice. You have a new job which you are committed to working at. You don't want to burn any bridges at your old job since you do like the company but just want a new challenge hence the new employment. See what they say and if they can give you any advice. In the meantime I would call the new employer to tell them there will be a delay with your start time. Either way. . .good luck! I hope it works out for the best!

Depends on what type of job you have. I am an insurance agent and signed a non compete agreement. I would get fired for working for another insurance company at the same time I was being paid by my current employer. If you didn't sign anything like that then they probably wont do anything to you. Really depends on the job and what agreements you have made.

What do you mean that everything blew up before you could call. Whatever you do on your personal vacation time is your business. If you decide to pick up another job then as long as you are not doing it while at your previous job then they can't tell you that you are fired because you have another job. If you could, add details explaining that a little more, please.

You can do anything you want on your vacation, your employer has no right to dictate what you do in your personal time. AS for handing in your notice, give it in writing..send an email..then you have a copy for yourself for proof. They can't just not accept it, you control your own life, not them. Its always best to do things right though, send an email and ask for confirmation.

Well, I believe so. But there's one place you can work while on vacation and not get fired, and that is in the comfort of your own home; and you can make up to $1000 Per Day by just entering simple data. For more information please visit the link below:

With most companies, Yes...because you are still getting paid from them while you are working somewhere else. I know several people that took personal time to work at another job and lost their first job because of it.

no unless it a "conflict of interest" situation . You would have signed a form for this when you got hired . Of course in some states they can fire you for anything and don't have to tell you why

why go on vacation if you aint gonna enjoy it? Wouldn't it be smarter to have them just pay you for the week and be honest?
