And don't get all defensive and say "we invented this and that" I dont care, that does not excuse the disgusting behavior of all scottish people I have met. Secondly, I dont care if some Scots have high up jobs in teh Government! They are not exactly doing a very good job! GET OUT!

Oh God! Every Scottish person I have ever known, be that as it may little more than half a dozen, are some of the most miserable people I've ever met.
For he who said it, I don't see why we should be jealous, what with our being the most successful, largest and wealthiest by far, country in the UK. True, we have Scots running us at the moment, which is why the West Lothian question is of such importance these days.
Now, we don't hate the Scots, but for some reason they vehemently detest us. Maybe it's because of our long history of conflict and war, most of which has ended in the Scottish coming off the worst and brooding for a few centuries. Maybe because they are jealous of our success and wealth as a nation, and that we have to subsidise them to keep them running. Either way, we don't instigate it in any way deliberately.
The Scotch nation as a whole hate us for no reason we can fathom, and if we behave arrogantly towards you it is only because we are p*ssed off with your attitude.
If you had been in the world cup, we would have supported you; but not, it seems, the other way round.
I realise I'm generalising, I'm not saying all Scots have a chip on their shoulder.

well because were not arrogant english idiot. Remember who runs you country england A SCOT Tony Blair and who manages your countries money A SCOT Gordon Brown and your countries home affairs A SCOT.
So before you or english media slag us off on either the telephone (which we invented) or the Tv (which we invented) perhaps you should stop being so silly before telling us to go back to Scotland (on the road which we incidentally design and built). Funny eh are you jealous?
In response to Andy further down, Scotland has oil and helps keeps England not the other ways round, but I guess you call that British oil conveintly! Yes when it's Scottish and good it's British and if it's Scottish and no good it's Scottish. As for the West Lothian child. Scotland does have a better education system that's fact and most teen mum's come from further south, as does more unmarried couples living together. As for the world cup you have 25million people to choose a team from we have only 5 million. Although we do win lots of sporting events.

I'd consider it more childish than arrogant or self-important. How do you know he did it 'on purpose'? There could have been any number of valid reasons (computer problems, family emergency, etc.) He might even have had a large number of chats going on simultaneously and closed yours by mistake. In any case, seems a pretty minor thing to get all butthurt over...

I can honestly say that I have never met a Scot who is arrogant and full of self importance. I've always found them warm and pleasant people who have lovely accents...

I didnt realise I was arrogant and full of self-importance. I live in scotland and we are a very friendly bunch. Ive always been polite to folk regardless of where they are from.

There are arrogant people everywhere, plus Ive never met any like that- the Scots I know are lovely.

Not the ones I've met, maybe your not getting on their good side or maybe the ones you met knew you disliked them so much they decided not to waste their kindness on you, no wonder their is so much hatred in this world with people like you asking such racist questions, grow up and take people as you find them and if you don't gel with them move on to someone you might like.

From the other side of the Atlantic it appears that Scottish people suffer from feelings similar to a younger sibling rivalry. No matter how much they succeed, they'll always be the the shadow of England.

why are you allowed to say things like that about the Scots. If you were to come on here and say the same things but change the the word Scottish for Indian or African wouldn't you be classed as a racist and reported for abuse?
