Well, ok, I guess if I understand your question..
Main Entry: com·pute
Pronunciation: k&m-'pyüt
Function: verb
Inflected Form(s): com·put·ed; com·put·ing
Etymology: Latin computare -- more at COUNT
transitive verb : to determine especially by mathematical means ; also : to determine or calculate by means of a computer
intransitive verb
1 : to make calculation : RECKON
2 : to use a computer

So basically it performs millions of mathmatical equations to make our lives easier. Everything we type into the computer gets turned into 0's and 1's which is called binary. That is why everything the computer does is mathmatical. Hope this helps.
