I advise ou to go into the www.soa.org, they send you a package with all the information you need to your house. Try to google "actuary association", there is a lot of pages of information. The job prospects....well, I looked into it, and there is alot of opportunities in that field. God Luck.

If you are talking about what I think you are. Acturial science is pretty much the study of statiscial probability. You use lots of data and math formulas to create calculations on probabilities of any number of things. It is real big in the insurance world. You can use it to figure out how often events would occur based on things like location, age, cars. etc.
In the movie "along came Polly" Ben Stiller was an actuary for an insurance company.
