Twins means they were born as close to the same day as possible. (ie minutes apart with a midnight change of day). They are not a year apart in their age. They are the same age just minutes apart.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Fuller Olsen, also famously known as the Olsen Twins, were born on June 13, 1986 in Sherman Oaks, part of San Fernando Valley in California, to proud parents Jarnette (Jarnie) and David Olsen. They have lived in Sherman Oaks a large part of their lives. They moved to a new home in a gated community south of San Fernando Valley around the end of 1998. Most people think they are identical twins because they shared such similar resemblence to each other, but little did they know that they are in fact actually fraternal twins. One possibility that u make sense, one must be born at 11:59 of June 13 and the other a few minutes later makin it June 14. By the way June 13 is my b'day haha.

one might be older, but only by a couple minutes. They are identical twins and were born on the same day. I personally like Ashley better because she is not as "troubled"

This doesn't really answer your question, but I thought it was interesting: I know a man who was born a few minutes before midnight on New Year's Eve, and his twin brother was born a few minutes after midnight on New Year's Day. So they are identical twins, but their birth dates are different years!

they were both born on june 13, 1986. they are fraternal twins...not identical

No, they are the same age...if anything, one is a few minutes or so older :-p oh yea AND believe it or not they are apparently FRATERNAL twins & NOT identical....hard to believe huh?
