something that has the power to corrupt and terrify, to cause wars and ruin lifes, to divide nations and persecute, but also something that can bring love and peace, a warm feeling in your soul, strength when suffering and reassurance that ultimatly everything is going to be okay.

I view 'Religion' as a man made entity, spawned in the pit of Hell to cause division: hatred: bitterness: anger: confusion: stress: anxiety: depression: war: and 101 other problems, for non-believers, and believers alike, across the globe!!
True 'Christianity' however is something 'Totally' different: it is not a religion... its a way of life, and more!! We follow a man in the person of Jesus Christ: not a religion!!

I maintain that religion is any system of beliefs, usually centered around spiritual tenets, shared by a group of people that gives structure to a person's outlook. I believe that even athiesm is in fact a religion. It is a belief structure held by several people that gives structure and meaning to their world.

I view it as a way of life. If you read the Bible, especially the new testament, you can apply alot of it to your everyday life. Not only that but there is such great comfort in knowing that someday everything is going to be made new. Jesus said, "Look, I make everything new" and so it shall be. God loves us all and wants all of us to know Him and love Him.

All religions are superstitious ways of making believe that somehow we're not going to end up in the grave.

As blind stupidy in a rational person who turns to it later in life, as unfortunate conditioning in someone who has been brought up with it.
Either way it saddens me when a mind is shackled by such a ridiculous concept.

It an old fashioned way to explain problems without any true scientific or logical reasoning. It gave power to those who preached it to some very uneducated people.

there is only one religion, the true one. I'm glad you asked about religion in the singular cuz there is only one. The true one is that whose main Character died for the sins of man.
