She is not fat. But her priorities are so different from mine. She is really driving me crazy. And the bets part is that everyday she talks about the Crabs she is going to buy and eat on the weekend, every weekend. She is a temporary employee. And has a boyfriend and a son. She lives in a one bedroom apt and they all sleep in the same room. HELP ME!!! Am I a snob or is she that diferent from me?

Or you could get religeon, put up a Cross or Virgin Mary and start preaching. Give her a book about converting, they're usually very inexpensive and considering her lifestyle, she ought to "clam up" pretty quickly!
Really your only choices are to try to avoid her, challenge her on her behavior or be annoying right back. How you deal with her has a lot to do with your personality and how you face other problems. She will not be the last annoying person in your life!

You may very well be a snob, but that's not what matters. What matters is that you let her know, in a nice way, that you would prefer if she didn't talk to you so much at work. Explain to her that it's hindering your work, and your job is more important to you than what she's going to eat, where she lives, or what her lifestyle is like. People that don't have much tend to talk a lot about what they do have, which can become annoying. But you have to be stern and gentle at the same time so as not to create a volatile work environment.

It doesn't sound like she's doing much work herself if she talks so much. Try telling her that you really can't talk now because you are trying to work. She may or may not realize how annoying she's being. Be grateful that she's temporary. And no, you're not a snob. It sounds as if you two are just in different places in life.

Maybe she doesnt have many friends outside of work, wants to be able to talk to somebody at work, and can't think of anything else to talk about. Try to steer her in other conversational directions. I moved to another state last year and it was hard to get used to a new environment.
